Would you like to be more involved in the Middle School community? It is a great way to get to know the school, teachers and the administrators, and the PTO has several volunteer openings for the 2016-2017 school year. Please contact Amy Simmons at email@example.com to volunteer or for any questions!
Middle & More Coffee Coordinator – Work with the PTO and Ms. Gavron to organize the monthly parent coffees, including topics and faculty speakers, and set up at the school the morning of the coffee. This role, in particular, is a wonderful way to get to know the school, teachers and administrators!
Fundraising Chair – This is a new position on the Middle School PTO board for 2016-2017, and it will include monthly PTO meetings with the board and the administration, as well as supporting the School Supplies and the Gift Your Child volunteers in their fundraising efforts.
Gift Your Child – The Middle School PTO is very excited to make the move away from sales-based fundraisers to join the rest of the district in the Gift Your Child fundraising model, and we would love a few volunteers to help us kick off the program! We would be looking for help writing eblasts, getting the Gift Your Child message out to the community and manning the PTO Gift Your Child tables at school events.
School Supplies – The PTO offers a pre-packaged school supplies service as a convenience to parents. It allows families to order their entire school supplies list at a discount to be delivered to their homes prior to the start of the school year. We already have a parent volunteer who started this program last year and who is coordinating it again this summer, but they are aging out of the middle school, and we are looking for a parent to shadow the process this summer in preparation to take it over again next summer. This role is done almost entirely from the comfort of your own home, over email, and the majority of the work is done during the summer.
Teacher Appreciation – The PTO’s entire Teacher Appreciation team graduated this year and we are looking for volunteers to replace them! We love our teachers and staff, and this is a very fun role to help show them how much we appreciate them. It would be a great job to share with a couple of friends, and includes coordinating the three Teacher Appreciation events traditionally held throughout the year (two lunches and one breakfast). Our outgoing team has incredibly organized files to pass along to their successors so that you are not starting from scratch!
Grade Level Parent Reps – Do you have a 7th or 8th grade student? We need 1-2 parent volunteers from each of these grades to help coordinate grade-level events like Cape Cod Night, DC Night and 7th & 8th Grade Curriculum Nights, as well as to work closely with your grade’s House Leaders on any other events they may need help coordinating.
